Autumn in Asheville

This is my favorite times of year.

I know a lot of folks appreciate Spring for all its color,

but I think Autumn displays much more color -

from the tops of trees to the very ground from which they grow-

color is everywhere!

And here in the greater Asheville area, 

we are perhaps a little spoiled on 

not only the length of our "Leaf Season," but the variety of it as well.

According to The Highlands Biological Station, 

we are home to over 158 tree species,

making for a gorgeous display of tones, hues and tints this time of year.

We do live in a lovely whirl of color, don't we?!!

New Business in the Heart of Downtown Asheville

Welcome to the new Twisted Laurel!!

Sam (pictured above) poured wonderful libations

at the pre-opening party for Angelo Karnezis and partner.

They are the former owners of Bellagio's Bistro.

Twisted Laurel is opening in 2 locations simultaneously:

the old Arcade in Pack Square and the former Jack of Hearts in Weaverville.

The space has been recreated with a beautiful concrete bar, 

24 micro brews on tap,

indoor and outdoor space with tons and tons of windows!!

 The upstairs has been revamped and will be a great space for live music.

Definitely a delightful continuation of the Greek and Italian flair,

though a bit more upscale than previous endeavors.

I personally appreciated the pasta most of all

and look forward to return experiences!
